USS Galena

The USS Galena was a screw steamer built for the Navy, launched 14 February 1862 and commissioned 21 April 1862.

She was assigned to the West Gulf Blockading Squadron in 1864, arriving on station 20 May 1864 and remained until 22 November 1864 when she departed for Philadelphia for repairs to damage sustained in the Battle of Mobile Bay.
